Crafting Community, One Cup at a Time

Pleasant Cafe

Coffee, Tea, Comfort and Community

Come As You Are. Stay For the Coffee.

A cozy neighborhood cafe rooted in Somali community, culture, and hospitality. Good food, familiar faces, and a place that feels like home.

Pleasant Cafe is a gathering place. Part coffee shop, part community hub — where neighbors come to slow down, share a meal, and feel welcome.

Our menu blends the familiar with the flavorful. You'll find flaky croissants and fresh-baked danishes alongside Somali staples like sambusas, bhajiya, and bur — the kind of food that carries culture in every bite. Add a smoothie, a mocktail, or your coffee of choice, and you've got everything you need to settle in and stay a while.

Menu offerings rotate and vary by day — stop in and see what's fresh.

Pleasant Cafe is owned and operated by SOMFAM — the Somali Youth and Family Development Center — a Twin Cities nonprofit that has spent sixteen years investing in Somali youth, families, and community. The students and young people who work here are building real skills, real experience, and real futures.

When you grab a coffee here, you're part of that.

All donations support SOMFAM's youth employment and community programs.
